Built work across Barcelona

Living communal rooftops

Photographic documentation of timber-framed microclimates installed across residential flat roofs in Barcelona, engineered to cool top-floor apartments while restoring local pollinator paths.

Selected installations

Adapted to urban roofs

Eixample Central

Carrer d'Aragó communal roof

A ninety-square-meter flat gravel deck retrofitted with interconnected pine bays and climbing white jasmine. Monitored temperature logs showed a four-degree Celsius reduction in top-floor ceiling heat during peak July afternoons.

Vila de Gràcia

Carrer del Torrent terrace

Designed for a nineteenth-century masonry building with strict structural load limits. Low-profile aromatic herb modules and integrated bench seating allow fifteen neighbors to share an evening commons without exceeding weight allowances.

Poblenou Maritime

Passatge de Masoliver retrofit

Exposed coastal wind conditions addressed through slatted windbreaks and deep vertical planters. Automated micro-drip irrigation maintains drought-hardy cistus and mastic shrubs using less than twelve liters of rainwater per week.

Material documentation

Joinery and botanical craft

Macro records of non-penetrating aluminum footings, untreated local pinewood aging under coastal air, and native plants thriving across Mediterranean rooftop microclimates.
